Here’s the good news:  It only took four years, but in mid March one of my videos took off (followed by several more that each got over 300k views) and I may have finally found my online niche. And I’ve learned that folks are a lot more interested in talking about middle age than lobster salad.

The not so good news: It happened on TikTok. My followers jumped from 2,000 to 15,200+ which is now allowing me to get paid based on my video views, and bringing me attention from brands that I’m eager to work with. (I’m talking to you, Soma!)

Who knows what the future of TikTok holds? That’s why I cross post all of my content on multiple platforms (InstagramFacebookTikTok and YouTube) so if TikTok gets banned or decides to pull out of the U.S. market, I have plenty of places to direct my followers. (And given its immense popularity, I think that’s unlikely to happen.) If you want to see the “I Just Turned 60” and Generation Jones videos, I put them all in this playlist on YouTube.

Also in March, I attended the Alt Summit, a creator conference in Palm Springs. I met some amazing women, learned a ton, and came home energized with approximately a gazillion ideas and strategies I want to implement.

If you’ve been following for a while you know that about a year ago I did an online color consult with Created Colorful that was life changing. At the time they gave me a discount code, but it was only good for 30 days. (Kudos to the ten of you who took advantage.) They’ve now given me a permanent discount and I can’t recommend the process enough. It’s truly changed the way I dress and shop. And it’s not just for women (and not just for white people.) I’m gonna gift the hubby his own consult for Father’s Day. This post will tell you everything you need to know about how it works.

Three new recipes: A crunchy pesto chicken salad that doesn’t rely on seasonal produce (but still tastes super fresh & delicious), an Italian tortellini soup that is perfect for spring, and a healthy chicken and broccoli casserole that gets made all in one pan.
