Every Tuesday I try a new product and post a (brutally honest) review. Today, I’m sharing my review of Blender Bombs: a super-convenient, plant-based way to add a BIG nutritional boost to your smoothies.

Blender Bombs are pre-portioned nuggets that you can drop into your blender (along with fruit, greens and liquid) for a nutritional boost. They are plant-based, gluten-free and made with real food ingredients.

Blender Bombs differ from traditional “energy bites” because most energy bites are 70% dates and honey and 30% nuts/seeds. Not only that, but a lot of them are full of rice blend protein powder and other artificial ingredients. Blender Bombs are 70% nuts and seeds, and 30% dates and honey to bind them together.

I loosely follow Kelly Leveque’s Fab Four Smoothie formula from her book Body Love so my morning smoothie consists of:

If you’ve been following me for a while you know that I’m a huge fan of a Fab Four Smoothies as they keep me full for hours. I love the idea of starting my day with a healthy combination of protein, fiber, fruit and greens.

My Favorite Blender Bomb Flavors:

Peanut Butter Blast – dates, peanuts, cacao (raw chocolate), flax seeds, almonds, hemp seeds, chia seeds, sea salt, local raw honey, walnuts, and bee pollen. ROLLED IN: cinnamon, vanilla bean, and pecans.

The OG Blender Bomb: pecans, dates, local raw honey, flax seeds, hemp seeds, cinnamon, vanilla seed, almonds, chia seeds, walnuts, and bee pollen.

Java Jolt Blender Bomb – pecans, walnuts, dates, flax seeds, local honey, almond butter, sea salt, ground coffee, hemp seeds, chia seeds, cinnamon, cacao (raw chocolate), and bee pollen. ROLLED IN: cinnamon, vanilla bean, and flax seeds.

Get Up and Goji – pecans, dates, acai, walnuts, local raw honey, goji berries, coconut, almonds, flax seeds, hemp seeds, and bee pollen. ROLLED IN: cinnamon, vanilla bean, and pecans. The frozen wild blueberries are dehydrated below 118 degrees so they do not lose any nutrients in the drying process.
