Just in time for the back-to-school season, here’s a new PB&J smoothie recipe based on the classic PB&J (peanut butter and jelly) sandwich – minus the gluten, preservatives and processed junk.
Lately I’ve been craving peanut butter. I wake up thinking about it. And that’s really weird because I rarely eat peanut butter any more (preferring to substitute almond butter or cashew butter.) But hey, the body wants what it wants.
My peanut butter cravings inspired me to put together a PB&J smoothie this morning following the #Fab4smoothie formula of protein, fiber, fat and greens.
This recipe uses Blender Bombs but if you don’t have them I’ve given you an alternative. Blender Bombs are pre-portioned nuggets that you can drop into your blender (along with fruit, greens and liquid) for a nutritional boost. They are plant-based, gluten-free and made with real food ingredients. They’re currently available only via mail order and will keep unrefrigerated for three weeks. You can read my full review of Blender Bombs HERE.
You can use fresh or frozen fruit in this PB&J smoothie. If you use fresh fruit, be sure to add a couple of ice cubes to ensure that it’s nice and cold.
