Description

Every grandma should have a signature cookie recipe, and I think this is going to be mine. Z-Ma’s oatmeal cookies are chewy and buttery with just the right amount of crunch. There a real crowd pleaser for both kids and adults.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar (or substitute monkfruit)
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 3 cups old fashioned oats
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 cup shredded coconut

Instructions

  1. Using a mixer, cream the butter and sugars until light and fluffy.
  2. Add eggs and vanilla extract.
  3. Add all remaining dry ingredients (salt through coconut), stopping to scrape down the side of the bowl as needed.
  4. Drop heaping tablespoons of dough onto an ungreased baking sheet.
  5. Bake cookies for 12 – 13 minutes until golden brown.
