Happy Halloween! I know it’s technically still October, but I’m sending my November newsletter early because I want to show you our 2024 Halloween costume, tell you about the BeautyCounter sale that starts this Friday and talk about democracy. How’s that for a teaser?
- I’ll take any excuse to wear a costume, and I’ve been doing Halloween couples costumes since I met my husband in 2015. This year we decided to go as Coach Prime and a CU cheerleader. Go Buffs! You can see a video with a bunch of our previous Halloween costumes HERE.
- I’ve been obsessed with The Golden Bachelor/Bachelorette and I’ve posted a couple of videos with my “hot takes.” Natascha Hardee (who was one of the bachelorettes – God I hate that word) in the first season with Gerry reached out to me. She’s a coach that specializes in healthy aging and we’re going to do an Instagram/TikTok live on Nov. 12th. More info to come.
- New Recipes: Scroll down for two new soup recipes and an amazing zucchini cake with cream cheese frosting that’s so easy even I can make it (and I hate to bake!)
- 🇺🇸 Have you voted yet? I did! This isn’t a typical presidential election between two principled public servants who just have different views on how to govern. This is less about party and more about electing an autocrat no longer moderated by legitimate governing officials or the restraining factor of a possible second-term. Trump is dangerous and unchecked, and if elected I believe he will do exactly what he promises (and his promises are terrifying.) Vote, and vote early. Encourage your adult kids. Give your neighbors rides. Make sure your friends have a voting plan. Use your voice and don’t be afraid. And remember that your vote is private. If your conscience requires you to vote against your party’s nominee, democracy allows you to cast that vote in safety and privacy. Vote for democracy. Country over party. It’s no longer about his character. It’s about ours.
